The purpose of the Baseball Alberta Umpires Academy is to identify and train umpires that are interested in personal and professional development as an umpire.
The Baseball Alberta Umpire Academy is an intensive umpire training program designed to accelerate the development of the individual umpire. The Academy combines live game training and off field sessions led by Baseball Alberta's most Senior Umpire Instructors. Students who apply and are accepted can expect a low student to instructor ratio, direct hands-on training and mentorship, and an in-depth exploration of rule knowledge and content.
The Baseball Alberta Umpire Academy goal is for all umpires to advance multiple years in their personal development and their NUCP Level progression in 1 season, through a condensed multi session training program. By design the academy is open to students currently who have had at least 1 full time year of Umpiring and are at least turning 16 years old in the calendar year.
If you are serious about umpiring, want a more intense training experience, want to be assigned higher level games and improve your personal performance as an umpire, apply to the Baseball Alberta Umpires Academy here.
